Is there any～？と Is there a～ ?

の使い分けは？？

・Is there a ～ : １つしかなさそうなものを尋ねる時

・Are there any ～ :　２つ以上ありそうなものを尋ねる時

例えば、遊園地、映画館などはなかなか近くに沢山あるものではなく、

１つしかなさそうなので、、

Is there an amusement park around here?

Is there a movie theater near here?

となります。

２つ以上ありそうな

ATM、レストランなどは、、

Are there any ATMs aound here?

Are there any restaurants near here?

プラスアルファで、、

Are there any nice restaurants near here?

restaurant (名詞)の前に　nice / good （形容詞）をつけると

この辺りに良いレストランはありますか？

とおススメを尋ねることもできます。
